Haaaaaave you met Kester

Hello, and welcome to Level! Tell us about yourself.

Hi there! I’m Kester, better known as Sid, the Ice Age sloth. There’s no middle ground when it comes to me—I’m either socially uncomfortable or a walking billboard. I’ve been training for almost ten years, and I’ve always enjoyed a challenge and trying out various training methods.

How have your years in the fitness industry led you to believe in what you do about fitness today?

In many cases, people tend to overlook the fact that the main objective of training is to enhance their overall quality of life beyond the confines of the gym. Nevertheless, there is a crucial tipping point in one’s progress within the gym where it’s possible for certain drawbacks to affect our health. While setting fitness goals can help keep us on track and provide a sense of fulfillment, it is essential to choose the right goals that align with the life we genuinely desire and the person we aspire to become. Ultimately, finding this balance is the key.

What do you like to do outside the gym?

I enjoy running in parks and staring at pets. I’m addicted to cooking steak; I can’t go even a week without it. I like to just sit at home or somewhere quiet and drink a good pint of beer after a long day or week.

How would you like to chart your journey in the next 3-5 years? What are things you are aiming to do and are striving forward?

I recognize that there is much more for me to learn as a trainer. Over the next 3-5 years, and even beyond that, if possible, I plan to enroll in additional courses and seek knowledge from a diverse range of sources. My goal is to expand my understanding and expertise by learning from various individuals and experiences.

What do you think are two biggest ways in the way people are misguided about fitness?

The fitness and nutrition industries frequently employ deceptive marketing strategies, which is one common problem. Exaggerated claims regarding products or diets that guarantee easy and quick results are frequently seen. This may cause consumers to fall for deceptive advertising and spend money on goods that might not be helpful or even health safe.

Thinking there’s a “one-size-fits-all” approach to training: The notion that there is a single training method that suits all athletes is one of the biggest misconceptions. Individuals have different body shapes, fitness levels, and ambitions. An individual’s preferred method could not be the same for another. When selecting a training technique, it’s critical to take things like individual preferences, health concerns, and specific goals into account.

What are three things’ people don’t know about you?
I have an immense fear of heights.
I love South Park.
I enjoy watching crime shows.
